The National Initiative (NI) Impact Award recognizes the member(s) whose prior NI project(s) resulted in sustained impact in the following areas: individual/participant, alignment, internal utilization, and external dissemination. The AIAMC National Initiative is the only national and multi-institutional collaborative of its kind in which residents lead multidisciplinary teams in quality improvement projects aligned to their institution’s strategic goals. Seventy hospitals and health systems and over 1,500 individuals have participated in the AIAMC National Initiatives since 2007 driving change that has resulted in meaningful and sustainable outcomes improving the quality and safety of patient care.

ALLIANCE INNOVATION AWARD

The Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers will present the Alliance Innovation Award on an annual basis to its institutional member who best exemplifies creative and innovative approaches to medical education and research. The institution selected for this prestigious honor must demonstrate an innovation in the following categories:
- The development and/or implementation of innovative medical education programs for residents, physicians and other staff and may include curriculum development and implementation, assessment methodologies, and/or outcomes related to medical education initiatives.
- Innovation significant themes such as provider well-being, quality improvement, population health, health disparities and/or cultural competency initiatives involving residents, physicians and other staff and related outcomes.
- The development and/or application of scientific discoveries areas of research may include education, health care improvement, biomedical research and/or translational research.

The Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers will present the Ethel Weinberg, MD, award on an annual basis to its individual member who best exemplifies the energy and commitment of our founder. The person selected for this prestigious honor must demonstrate excellence in providing:
- Significant service to the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers, including but not limited to Board officer or director as well as committee member and leader.
- Noted leadership in academic medicine, both locally and nationally.
- Advocacy for the independent academic medical center by articulating our unique role and contributions.
