Impressive ProgramThe theme of our 2010 Annual Meeting is Communication as a Driver of Quality.  John Nance, author of Why Hospitals Should Fly, Aviation Analyst for ABC News, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and Veteran Airline Pilot, will provide the keynote presentation.   You won’t want to miss this riveting speaker who is as relevant as he is energizing and inspiring. Influential academic medicine experts from across the country will also join us for such timely topics as Generational Communication, Workforce Issues, Teamwork and the Teaching Scholar of Tomorrow.  Two optional ½ day workshops will allow more time to explore these themes in greater depth.  Meeting attendees will be encouraged and equipped to lead change in their home institutions.

#1  Meeting Location:  The 2010 Annual Meeting will be held at the memorable Loews New Orleans Hotel.  Travel + Leisure Magazine recently announced that New Orleans placed number one more than any other destination in their 2009 “America’s Favorite Cities" survey. New Orleans topped the charts in sub-categories such as Best Stylish Boutique Hotels, Live Music Concerts and Bands, Antique and Vintage Shopping and more.  The Loews New Orleans Hotel is located three blocks from the French Quarter, Aquarium of the Americas and various riverfront attractions.  Our special conference rate is just $239/night.  Visit www.loewsneworleans.com for more information on the hotel and area attractions.

The Alliance is where the leaders of independent academic medical centers turn for information, ideas, and creative solutions to the challenges they have in common. Issues recently targeted for special attention include utilizing medical education and research as strategic assets; integrating medical education and research into clinical missions; linking medical education and research to quality outcomes and patient safety; and the changing dynamic and alterations in the balance of power between teaching hospitals and medical schools.
