Special Interest Forums: Communities of Networking

Social scientists have found that all communities are composed of certain key elements. These include:

  • Membership: A feeling of belonging or sharing a sense of potential relatedness;

  • Sphere of Influence: Being able to make a difference and having a sense that your “voice” matters;

  • Integration and Fulfillment of Needs: A sense that the resources received through membership in the group will meet one’s needs;

  • Shared Connection: The belief that members have shared, and will share, a history of similar experiences.

The AIAMC recognizes the importance of providing communities within our membership. We further realize that all not all members may travel to our Annual Meeting or other Special Interest Forum activities. Thus, we are pleased to introduce and offer our on-line communities to Alliance members who wish to benefit from networking with colleagues anytime….24 hours a day, seven days a week.
