Impressive Program: Our program will open with an optional half-day workshop on the Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER). Kevin Weiss, MD, and Robin Wagner of the ACGME will review findings to date and provide tools for meeting requirements in the six focus areas. The workshop will be complemented with two AIAMC members sharing their CLER site visit experiences. Lucian Leape, MD, will provide the keynote address entitled, A Culture of Respect: The Key to Patient Safety. Dr. Leape is internationally recognized as a leader of the patient safety movement, starting with the publication in JAMA of his seminal article “Error in Medicine” in 1994. Influential academic medicine experts from across the country -- including Drs. Darrell Kirch, Thomas Nasca and Murray Kopelow -- will also join us.
